The Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle/University District is looking for a full or Part time Housekeeping Aide to join our team. We are managed by Puget Sound Hospitality which owns and operates 5 hotels in the Puget sound area.

The details
Salary: $21.68 per hour
Location: 4501 12th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105.
Commute/Transportation: We are located just 1 block from the Link Light rail station and offer a discounted annual ORCA pass. If you prefer to drive, we offer free parking to all of our employees in our underground garage.
Benefits: Our benefits package is available to full time employees after they complete 60 days of employment. This package includes medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D. We also have 6 paid holidays.
PTO is accrued at 0.0538 hours per hour starting on day 1 of employment.
We partner with Colonial life to offer supplemental insurance options such as accident, short term disability, and whole life during our annual enrollment.
We have a 401(K) retirement plan available to all employees who are 21+ and have been employed for 6 months.
We offer Marriott employee room rates as well as Marriott friends and family room rates that can be used based on availability at any Marriott location worldwide.
Work shifts: The hotel is a 24/7 operation so there are many shifts available to work that can align with your personal life.


The daily job duties
  • Follow a daily detailed checklist to complete the following:
  • Remove soiled linen and terry from housekeeping carts
  • Remove garbage from housekeeping carts and replace with new liner
  • Deliver supplies to housekeepers in a timely manner
  • Deliver items to guest rooms upon request from guests or the front desk using brand service standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of guest hallways by vacuuming, dusting, and reporting damage to maintenance
  • Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping storage and work areas by removing garbage, laundry, dirty dishes, and restocking supplies
  • Wash and return glasses to housekeepers using proper equipment and sanitization processes according to brand standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of main garbage/recycling area of the hotel
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas including Lobby and entrance, Business center
  • Public restrooms, driveway and surrounding sidewalks, Parking lot/Parking garage, guest and employee smoking area, fitness center, pool, elevator and elevator tracks, stairs
  • Empty and clean garbage and recycling receptacles
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Administrative offices

Skills & Qualifications

The Requirements
  • Assist guests with luggage
  • Maintain communication with front desk/maintenance/housekeeping supervisor/manager using a 2-way radio
  • Knowing and providing information about property facilities
  • Knowing how to listen, apologize, and get help when guests encounter problems
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness
  • Adhere to grooming and uniform standards
  • Delivering amenities and linen to guests upon request
  • Setting up baby cribs, and sofa beds
  • Using special equipment and machines safely
  • Use chemicals following the proper procedures and safety equipment
  • Provide the best possible customer service to our guests
  • Maintain a positive attitude during difficult or stressful situations
  • Ability to multi-task and fulfill several demands in a short time frame
  • Report any unsafe work practices
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs, stand, squat, bend, and push cleaning machines and/or carts. Must be able to follow and complete a detailed checklist each shift.
